THE JAWN STORE

C J.T. Realmuto

Realmuto, once the top catcher in baseball, is now entering his seventh season with the Phillies, maintaining a high level of play despite a slight decline with age.

Although his recent performance dipped compared to previous years, he still recorded a .266/.322/.429 slash line.

The Phillies should be more concerned about his diminishing defensive skills rather than his market value, as there are no clear alternatives at catcher.

LHP Ranger Suarez

Suarez's season was a mix of highs and lows, with an impressive start followed by struggles due to injury.

Despite a rough patch, he excelled in the postseason, showcasing his potential as one of the top pitchers in baseball.

While the team boasts pitching depth, retaining Suarez should be a priority given his performance when healthy.

The Philadelphia Phillies face a crucial offseason this year, with few key players expected to depart.

However, the situation will change next time around, as several stars are in the final year of their contracts.

The team must now consider negotiating extensions, trading for prospects (which seems unlikely), or allowing them to leave in free agency after the upcoming season.

While winning a championship remains the top priority this year, planning for the future of these players is also essential.

DH Kyle Schwarber

Although Schwarber has been consistently solid, he has truly blossomed into a star since joining Philadelphia.

Averaging 44 home runs and 101 RBI per season with a .221/.344/.488 slash line, his 2023 batting average of .197 slightly affects his overall impressive performance.

Given his crucial role in the team's offense, fans would be disheartened to see him leave, especially with a World Series within reach.
