Zach Pressnell of Newsweek has proposed a blockbuster trade idea that would finally bring Robert to Philadelphia.

In his trade suggestion, the Phillies would acquire Robert in exchange for outfielder Justin Crawford, shortstop Bryan Rincon, and outfielder Emaarion Boyd.

Crawford is the No. 3 prospect in Philadelphia's system, Rincon is the No. 10-ranked prospect, and Boyd is ranked No. 23.

Is that too much to give up for Robert?

That depends on what the Phillies believe they can achieve with his development.

Last season, the 27-year-old outfielder played in only 100 games. He struggled to stay healthy, hitting just 14 home runs and driving in 35 RBI with a slash line of .224/.278/.379.

Reflecting on the 2023 season, he played in 145 games, hitting 38 home runs, with 80 RBI and a slash line of .264/.315/.542.

If Philadelphia were acquiring the 2023 version of Robert, this would be a very wise move.

Acquiring him would involve some risk. It is uncertain what kind of player he will ultimately become, but for the Phillies, his bat could be the missing piece.

This is merely an idea that could make sense.

Philadelphia may not even be interested in pursuing a trade for Robert.

If they are, this would be one potential trade package that could make sense.

The Philadelphia Phillies have been notably quiet at the start of the MLB offseason.

Although they are still expected to make significant moves, their silence has left fans feeling uneasy.

Despite the Phillies' lack of action, many talented players remain available in free agency, and the trade market has been quite active.

Entering the winter, Philadelphia was anticipated to show interest in acquiring a powerful hitter. They have been linked to a few sluggers in free agency, but there is one potential trade target they might still consider.

Before the 2024 MLB trade deadline, the Phillies were frequently associated with a possible trade for Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr.

Those rumors never materialized, but could they resurface during the offseason?

So far, the White Sox have completed one major trade, sending starting pitcher Garrett Crochet to the Boston Red Sox. If offered the right deal, it seems likely they would also trade Robert.
