In their lineup, acquiring one or two outfielders would be advantageous, given the lack of offensive output from center and left field in the playoffs.

While free agency is a potential avenue for improvement, Philadelphia might also explore trades.

Recently, Joel Rueter of Bleacher Report discussed Justin Crawford as a potential centerpiece in trades during the winter meetings.

“The Philadelphia Phillies' current window to win a title is rapidly closing as their core of established stars nears the end of their prime, which could create a sense of urgency this winter to go all-in for the 2025 season. Justin Crawford quickly became one of the team's top prospects after being selected No. 17 overall in the 2022 draft, hitting .316/.371/.442 with 72 extra-base hits and 99 steals in 213 minor league games. The son of former MLB All-Star Carl Crawford, he possesses a similar skill set with the potential to be an impactful offensive table-setter and a standout outfield defender, but his proximity to the majors could make him a trade asset.”

Crawford ranks among the Phillies' top prospects, and trading him would likely require acquiring an impactful player.

However, considering his versatility and outfield skills, retaining him should be strongly considered.

As Philadelphia is determined to win a World Series with their current core, they will do everything possible to field the best team.

With the Los Angeles Dodgers strengthening this offseason, the Phillies recognize the need for significant improvements to remain competitive in 2025 and beyond.

The Philadelphia Phillies approached the offseason eager to make changes following their early playoff exit.

The Phillies faced a disappointing conclusion to the 2024 season, as they fell short of their World Series aspirations, securing only one playoff victory.

Despite their success over the past three years, they haven't captured the title, being eliminated earlier each October.

Philadelphia still boasts one of the top cores in baseball, though it's an aging group.

With stars like Bryce Harper and Zack Wheeler still excelling, the moment to win is now.

The Phillies aim to address several roster needs, particularly in the starting rotation, where they could benefit from replacing Taijuan Walker after his poor performance last season.

The bullpen remains a focal point, and with Jeff Hoffman and Carlos Estevez entering free agency, additional options are necessary.
