"Lawson’s recent stint in the NFL ended abruptly back in October," Erby noted. "Lawson, who was with the Panthers in October, was initially drafted by the Buffalo Bills in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He has completed nine NFL seasons, including two recent years with Buffalo, where he accumulated 4.5 sacks and 44 tackles."
Lawson is still available and could be acquired at a low cost for the Eagles. Drafted in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft by the Buffalo Bills, he has played for the Bills, Miami Dolphins, New York Jets, and Carolina Panthers during his career.
While Lawson might not be a game-changer, he could serve as a solid practice squad candidate.
Adding more depth to the Philadelphia Eagles could be beneficial, even after the team has already taken steps following Brandon Graham's season-ending triceps injury.
The Eagles lost Graham for the season during last week's game against the Los Angeles Rams. Prior to his injury, Graham had been performing excellently for the Eagles, recording 3.5 sacks and 20 tackles in the first 11 games of the season.
In response, the Eagles claimed Charles Harris and signed KJ Henry to the practice squad. However, no single player can fully replace Graham's impact at this stage of the season. Therefore, it would be wise to add more depth. Glenn Erby from USA Today Sports compiled a list of potential fits, including former first-round pick Shaq Lawson.
