Tannehill is an 11-year NFL veteran with an 81-70 record. The hope is that Hurts will recover and be ready for Week 17. However, even if he can play against the Cowboys, signing a player of Tannehill's caliber would still be wise.
Philadelphia has a strong opportunity to advance far in the playoffs this year, and Tannehill is a player who has achieved considerable success in the NFL. The recovery from a concussion varies for each individual, so having extra depth is always beneficial.
Tannehill is available in free agency and, with the season nearing its end, could likely be acquired at a low cost. At this stage, why not?
The Philadelphia Eagles faced a challenging day on Sunday.
They competed against their rivals, the Washington Commanders, and lost 36-33. More significantly, Eagles' star quarterback Jalen Hurts missed most of the game due to a concussion. At one point, he put his helmet back on but soon removed it and was declared out.
Hurts was diagnosed with a concussion, and it's uncertain if he will be able to play in Week 17 against the Dallas Cowboys. To be prepared, the Eagles should consider adding another player for depth. Former Miami Dolphins and Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill is still available in free agency and could be a valuable addition.
