"The Eagles are signing QB Ian Book to the practice squad following his visit yesterday, sources say," Garafolo stated. "Jalen Hurts (concussion) was listed as DNP on yesterday’s projected practice report while Kenny Pickett (ribs) was limited. Tanner McKee and Book now also available."
Book is 26 years old and has appeared in one NFL game. In 2021, he played with the Saints, completing 12 of 20 passes for 135 yards and two interceptions.
This isn't Book's first stint with the Eagles. In 2022, he was claimed off waivers by the team but was waived in 2023. Since then, he has been with the New England Patriots and Kansas City Chiefs in various roles.
It's uncertain what role, if any, he will have with Philadelphia, but it's notable that the Eagles are bringing in another quarterback. Hopefully, Hurts can return to the field quickly with the playoffs approaching.
The Philadelphia Eagles faced a scare this past weekend.
In Week 16, Philadelphia played against the Washington Commanders, and star quarterback Jalen Hurts suffered a concussion early in the game. Hurts missed most of the match, and his availability for Week 17 against the Dallas Cowboys is uncertain.
It's unknown if Hurts will be able to play, but the team added depth on Thursday by signing former New Orleans Saints quarterback Ian Book, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.

Former Saints QB Ian Book has been signed to the Eagles practice squad. This is his second stint with the Birds.
