Honestly, that’s about it. That’s all that’s worth writing about with the game today. The offense wasn’t in the mood to do anything, the fifth starter continues to be a sore spot for the Phillies and now they face the other Florida team this week, only it happens at home.
Annoying.
Do you remember waking up today? Every morning routing varies of course, but for the most part, you woke up, checked your phone for texts, emails, notifications, etc. After that, you may have gone downstairs to get coffee, make breakfast, something that would start your day.
I have some news for you, dear reader. That effort you put in to start this marvelous Sunday was more effort than anything the Phillies offense put in down in Miami.
The details? Gory.
Seth Johnson witnessed first hand the difference between even Triple A baseball and major league baseball, getting throttled in his major league debut to the tune of nine runs in 2 1⁄3 innings of work. The bullpen kept the game right about there, but it really didn’t matter. The lineup Rob Thomson wrote up for the day was clearly ready to get back to their watching of the opening week of the NFL. Three innings into the game, we went from thinking the Phillies would take the series to hoping they didn’t get no-hit by Edward Cabrera.
Today, it was Connor Norby’s turn to torment the Phillies, homering in the first inning off of Johnson.
In the third inning, it was off of Max Lazar to truly and finally put the game to bed.

The Phillies made Connor Norby look like Babe Ruth today as he slugged 2 two-run home runs.
